Prayer to God
Hope for change
Power through understanding
Truth is the bottom line
This morning I am wearing my thick socks because the floor is chilly. I look outside and I see the ground outside is saturated with rain. There are puddles, wet leaves, and broken tree stems scattered under the trees.
The changing of the seasons. It’s a truth you can’t argue.
God spoke truth from within Himself.
In the beginning, God created, said, saw, and affirmed His creation.
Truth is ancient, older than time itself. Truth has been here from the beginning and it’s here now.
Where is truth in your life? Your life, like gravity, is affected by the truth every moment of every day.
For instance, the truth is, we were born and we are going to die. Can’t argue with that.
These days we are allotted are full of activity which we can see and measure, but there is an area of ourselves we can’t put our hands on, that we don’t see with our eyes, it’s our spirit.
Our spirit is connected to God, we are His creation.
When we read the Bible we find all kinds of spiritual stuff going on, things that apply to us. One particular aspect is prayer.
God, our creator is such a good, kind creator that He has even made a way for us to experience Him. It’s through His Holy Word the Bible and through prayer. Prayer is like a portal.
Do you pray? Do you feel victorious in your prayer time?
I have prayed for a long time, but lately the Lord, our God, and Father is showing me more.
I am really excited to explore the idea of fervent prayer.
I am reading the book Fervent: A Woman’s Battle Plan to Serious, Specific and Strategic Prayer by Priscilla Shirer.
Priscilla is reminding me that there is an evil that wants to destroy us. I generally just like to keep my eye on God and His goodness but I’m coming to understand that the schemes of evil are out to defeat God, to destroy that which He loves, which is you and me!
The evil is as real a spirit as you, me and God. It leads us to and represents all lies, hate, crime, immorality and selfishness. To combat the schemes I am learning to remember and trust the promises of God in the Bible.
One verse that is helping me is “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases”. When worry or anxiety comes slinking around I remember that verse and by God’s grace, I believe it. That’s where the power is.
I have other issues I am praying about and staying in God’s Word is giving me the ammunition to defeat the junk in my head, the worry, anxiety, fear. All that is JUNK.
Here is a powerful verse to keep in our minds: Psalm 119:68
Praying to God, we say … “You are good and what You do is good; teach me your decrees”
We can go anywhere with that as our foundation! No matter what comes against us, this world may have it’s difficulties but our Father in Heaven has His plan and we can be confident that His plan is good. ❤
