Own Your Life by Sally Clarkson

I was born and given life .. one day at a time. Like an painter I use my days as brushes to paint the portrait of my life.

It’s freeing to be responsible for the good and bad in my life, it means I’m not a victim.

That’s what I got from Sally’s book Own Your Life. My book is underlined and starred because it is rich with basic common sense.

“From the moment we take our first breaths, our days are numbered, so how we live matters. The decisions we make—the important ones and, yes, the mundane ones too—they all matter. Everyday decisions add up to form the life we live and the legacy we leave behind.”

She relates from the position of being a wife and mother. Her children are grown so she looks back and shows us what she learned.

Learning how to live this new season of life, this book showed me that my job of being a homemaker is not over, by deliberate choice I am still creating a home and a life that the Lord uses to bless those around me, as I am used of Him, He makes beautiful things happen.  That’s why I am the Happy Nester.

Samaritan’s Purse is a wonderful organization that reaches little ones all over the world. What a  thrill, knowing the boxes we pack will soon be in the hands of little children who need hope for today. The boxes we packed on our visit went to Columbia. The children not only received toys and goodies, Samaritan’s Purse shares the love of Christ through discipleship.

Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!
