Look what I found on Pinterest. We started our new homegroup and I volunteered to bring treats the first night. I wanted to make something fun, something extra special for our new group. I used this recipe . The other blog writer did an amazing job. Her pics are fabulous, it inspired me to try the recipe myself.
Here is my version of her recipe. Starting with a box of brownie mix, I followed her instructions to put half of the batter in my foil lined 8×8.
While brownies were baking I melted the salted caramel with the pecans – mmm
After baking half the batter, I carefully spooned the caramel pecan filling onto the brownie.
I topped the caramel pecans with the other half of the brownie mix.
I covered that with the chocolate chips and more pecans.
It baked about 25 minutes. I took it out. The caramel filling kinda rose out from between the brownie layers. The chips and pecans had settled nicely into the brownie as it cooked. I added the candy corn for a festive touch.
Here they are. They are cut up into small pieces because our homegroup has about 15 children and well, things go fast when their are a lot of kids.
They aren’t as beautiful as the original recipe but I got many compliments and the plate was empty.
I would say that recipe was a success. It was a little expensive but for a special occasion it was worth it.
Would I make it again? Maybe, if the mood catches me just right.
They gave him a piece of fig cake and two clusters of raisins, and he ate; then his spirit revived … (1 Samuel 30:12)

YUM! I love the candy corn touch. (a little removed from fig cakes though – haha)
